{"id":3899,"date":"2015-02-25T21:37:09","date_gmt":"2015-02-25T19:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kokkolaopera.com\/?p=3899"},"modified":"2015-02-25T21:42:22","modified_gmt":"2015-02-25T19:42:22","slug":"kokkola-opera-summer-10-year-22-26-7-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kokkolaopera.com\/en\/kokkola-opera-summer-10-year-22-26-7-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Kokkola Opera summer 10 year 22.-26.7.2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Kokkola Summer Opera Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary between 22 and 26 July 2015 with a double-bill of operatic works: the seldom heard opera in one act by Jean Sibelius, &#8220;Maiden in the Tower&#8221; and a world premiere of a new piece &#8220;The Maiden of Harrb\u00e5da&#8221;, an opera by composer Seppo Pohjola and librettist Jusa Peltoniemi based on an old ghost legend from the Kokkola area. The performance will be in two languages (Finnish-Swedish) and features the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra, conductors Sakari Oramo and Erkki Lasonpalo and soloists Anu Komsi, Annika Myll\u00e4ri, Gabriel Suovanen, S\u00f6ren Lillkung and Markus Nyk\u00e4nen. Director: Akupetteri Pahkam\u00e4ki, Costumes: Henna Mustamo<\/p>\n<p>The festival also has an established and popular series of concerts in historic and beautiful locations around Kokkola, such as the Town Hall, Workers\u00b4House and Saha beach in Ykspihlaja.
